Call the Doctor has been uploaded on Soundcloud! If this doesn’t get you excited for our big launch, we got nothin’.

Our new music video for a new tune from our upcoming album! It is so good and we are very happy with it. Video by Alan Muszynski and song produced by Swanfield Studios.

Plans. Big Plans.

Hello all you beautiful wonderful BW fans and supporters!

So this is a long post, not for the faint of heart. But we’ve got a whole bunch of great things coming up that we’d love to share with you.

1. The album

As we’ve trumpeted so many times, we’ve got an album release coming up.

It’s going to be June 1st. At the Jazz Bar, Edinburgh. It’s going to be NUTS. Those of you familiar with the place know what a fantastic venue it is, home to the best live music in Edinburgh, hands down.

We’re so happy with this album. Really. It’s totally kickass. We had help from Will and Alex at Swanfield Studios. They helped forge and sculpt it into a polished piece of work. And creatively, we go into blues, rock, jazz, indie, soul, funk, even afrobeat. It’s so very totally kickass. So you should really come. In case you can’t we will be releasing this thing digitally on iTunes, Spotify and other digital distributors. We will certainly keep you posted!

2. The music video

We’re working on one. It’ll be released within the next few days. We’ll plaster it all over the place and if we could have your help in spreading it around like the avian flu that would be awesome. It’s been filmed by Alan Muszynski, who’s done great work with bands we are friends with, such as the Master Splinter Quartet and The Dirty Hemingways.

3. The Blueswater Swanfield Studio Sessions

Now this is going to be FANTASTIC. We’re going to team up with our friends at Swanfield Studios and record a NEW SONG every two weeks in a live session that we’ll video and put on youtube. We’ll start putting videos up around mid-June. Aside from a video platform for us, we want to collaborate with Edinburgh and Scotland-based musicians to promote their work as well! And then we can promote each other! And everyone wins.

4. The Blueswater presents…BLUES! at the 2012 Fringe

Last year we had a fantastic run with show at the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe. It was a musical history of blues covering the entire history of the genre in an hour. We got standing ovations. We had five star reviews. We had people dancing and shouting right back at us.

We had so much fun that we’re going to do it again. And it’s going to be even better, with new incredible songs. It’ll be a corker and you should most definitely come along. So August 2012, watch our online spaces or edfringe.com for news of our show ‘BLUES!’. It’s going to be insane.

5. The Blueswater Singer/Songwriter backing band

Another good one. Are you a singer/songwriter, whether aspiring or established? Or you got a friend who is one? Maybe they need a kickass backing band for a budget-friendly studio recording that we could help put together or for a crazy high profile gig. That kickass backing band would be us. Because we kick ass. We’d have to arrange a few details, obviously, and we wouldn’t come free, but we can make things work for you. If done right this could be a total win win.

6. Send us ideas!

We’re up for anything. Seriously. We’re like porn stars, only with music. It can be help for something you’re putting together, it can be this wild idea you had that maybe a good band could somehow pull off with a little imagination and elbow grease. Maybe your experimental jazz dance troupe wants to collaborate with us. We’re game. Just send us an email.

7. Join the email list

The best way for us to keep in touch with our fans and those interested in what we do is to join our email list which we’ll put out every so often. Just send us an email at theblueswater@gmail.com and we’ll add you! You can send love/hate mail, or anything else you like. We’ll read it. And we’ll answer you.

8. Spread the word!

The greatest help to us at this moment is to get our name out there as much as possible in the lead-up to our album launch. Accumulate FB likes, youtube views, etc. The more fan power behind us, we get more promoters and festivals that might be interested, we can play more and higher profile gigs, and we can have the more people power do some really kooky stuff.

You can start simply by liking this page here! If you have read all the way up till here then clearly you’re probably interested in us and what we do. So it’s worth joining. http://www.facebook.com/TheBlueswater

Thanks so much for your help and support, and we hope you enjoy the loads of awesome music we’ll be putting up soon!

Love,

The Blueswater (i.e. Felipe, Paul, Charlie, Nick, Ellie, Immie, Paddy, Luc, Becca, TJ, and Gordon)
